This is a moderate trek and you should be fit and conditioned if you wish to get the most out of this trek. Depending on the company you go with you this can be a strenuous trek as you may climb nearby high peaks to get a better view of Everest. So ask or check their itineraries carefully!This is a very popular trek and one to recommend because of the magnificence of scenery. You have it all, impressive mountain, a new culture to discover and a steady trek through cultivated fields and small sherpa villages. Most tour companies take the same route but with one or two differences Accommodation on trek usually in lodges and hotels, (some tour companies camp, so check this out) Most Everest base camp treks last 20/21days which involves 14/15 days of trekking and usually reach elevations of 5300 - 5600mt. The main trekking season is March- May & September to November The trek usually starts and finishes at Lukla. Typical Trek Itinerary (This outline is what many companies do) Day 01: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla. Trek to Phakding. Day 02: Trek to Namche Bazaar. Day 03: Acclimatization day. Optional hikes around Namche. Day 04: Trek to Khunde-Khumjung villages. Day 05: Trek to Thyangboche monastery. Day 06: Trek to Dingboche village. Day 07: Acclimatization day with optional hike to Chukung. Day 08: Trek to Lobuche. Day 09: Trek up the Khumbu Glacier to Everest Base Camp. Overnight at Gorakshep. Day 10: Morning trek to Kala Patthar Everest View Point. Afternoon trek to Lobuche or Pheriche. Day 11: Trek to Phortse village. Day 12: Trek to Namche Bazaar. Day 13: Trek to Monjo or Phakding. Day 14: Trek to Lukla. Day 15: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu. End of trek
